*** Scarce works. Whitehurst was a clockmaker and scientist
and made significant early contributions to Geology. He was a
prominent member of the Lunar Society of Birmingham along
with Joseph Priestley, Josiah Wedgwood, Erasmus Darwin and
Matthew Boulton. Includes his An Inquiry into the Original State
and Formation of the Earth.
