*** In the letters Lodge mentions that Archibald Thorburn kept
jungle fowl and that he has just had a visit from Philp Rickman. He
also remarks that “...a first edition of Audubon’s Birds was sold not
long ago for £7500...”. They are addressed to “Dorothea” and dated
1953. The recipient is possibly the artist Dorothea Braby as he asks
how how her zoo alphabet is progressing.
