*** In the letters Lodge mentions that Archibald Thorburn kept<br />
jungle fowl and that he has just had a visit from Philp Rickman. He<br />
also remarks that “...a first edition of Audubon’s Birds was sold not<br />
long ago for £7500...”. They are addressed to “Dorothea” and dated<br />
1953. The recipient is possibly the artist Dorothea Braby as he asks<br />
how how her zoo alphabet is progressing.<br />
