DAY 16 (B, D): This morning time is available for optional scenic flights to view the<br />

glaciers and Mount Cook. Then south along the West Coast Road intoWest Coast<br />

Road into the South West New Zealand World Heritage Area. A highlight today is jet<br />

boating on the mighty Haast River in Mount Aspiring National Park. Then over the<br />

Haast Pass to Makaroa and onto the upper reaches of Lake Wanaka and our hotel in<br />

the resort of Wanaka.<br />

DAY 17 (B): Our first stop will be at the site of New Zealand’s first commercial<br />

Bungy Jump platform at Kawarau Gorge. We continue to historic Arrowtown - a<br />

quaint town with historic remains from the Gold Rush days. Then a visit to<br />

Stoneridge Chapel and Water Garden for a guided tour before reaching Queenstown<br />

where we stay for two nights.<br />

DAY 18 (B, D): A day at leisure in New Zealand’s premier resort. There is plenty to<br />

see and do including a trip on the Shotover jetboat, a four wheel drive excursion<br />

through Skippers Canyon, a ride on the Skyline Gondola or just have an easy day on<br />

the lakeside promenade. This evening we take a cruise across Lake Wakatipu to the<br />

Walter Peak High Country Farm for a buffet dinner at the Colonel’s Homestead.<br />

DAY 19 (B, D): We skirt the shores of Lake Wakatipu, to Kingston for an optional ride<br />

on the Kingston Flyer steam train. We continue to Te Anau, the gateway to New<br />

Zealand’s Fiordland National Park - one of the great wilderness areas of the<br />

Southern Hemisphere. This afternoon we visit the local Fiordland Cinema to view<br />

‘Ata Whenua’ – Shadowland, a short film which takes us through one of the most<br />

awe inspiring landscapes on earth.<br />

DAY 20 (B, L): A highlight of the tour as we drive to Milford Sound along one of the<br />

most scenic roads in the world through the Southern Alps. Before reaching Milford<br />

Sound we shall have a picnic lunch in the coach. At our destination we take to the<br />

water for a scenic cruise through the fjord which stretches 22km to the open sea.<br />

The Sound is dominated by the grandeur of Mitre Peak and the Bowen Falls. Then<br />

back to our hotel in Te Anau.<br />

DAY 21 (B, D): We visit picturesque Lake Manapouri with its back drop of rugged<br />

mountains and then follow the Southern Scenic Route to Invercargill, one of the<br />

world’s southern most cities. On arrival we enjoy a sightseeing tour of the area,<br />

including a visit to Bluff for a photo opportunity at the famous signpost pointing to<br />

all of the world’s various destinations.<br />

DAY 22 (B, D): Before leaving Invercargill we visit the Southland Museum and Art<br />

Gallery. There are excellent exhibits tracing the history of the area and this is home<br />

to several tuatara – a New Zealand native reptile. We then drive through some of<br />

the country’s most densely populated sheep country via Balclutha to reach the “The<br />

Edinburgh of the South “– Dunedin. Upon arrival we visit shall have a sightseeing<br />

tour including visits to Baldwin Street (officially the steepest street in the world) and<br />

the historic railway station.<br />

DAY 23 (B, D): This morning we have a guided tour of Olveston House, an<br />

impressive dwelling dating from the early 20th century that is still home to all the<br />

lavish furnishings and art collections. Then we head towards the coast to visit the<br />

Moeraki Boulders. Next we call at Oamaru where we have time to look at the ‘White<br />

Stone City’ and continue past Benmore and Otematata, to our overnight hotel in<br />

Twizel.<br />

DAY 24 (B, D): A day for spectacular sights. We head north to skirt the shore of Lake<br />

Pukaki to Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest mountain. Time is available to enjoy<br />

an optional scenic flight over the ancient rivers of ice and the West Coast Glaciers<br />

(weather permitting). Travelling to Tekapo we witness the magnificent blue waters<br />

of Lake Tekapo. Here we visit the Church of the Good Shepherd and the statue of<br />

the Collie dog, before travelling the vast Mackenzie Basin, over Burke’s Pass through<br />

Fairlie, Geraldine, Ashburton and across the Canterbury Plains into Christchurch<br />

where we stay for two nights.<br />

DAY 25 (B, D): Today we join the famous TranzAlpine train for a scenic ride up into<br />

the Southern Alps from Christchurch to Arthurs Pass. We leave the train here and<br />

join our coach for the journey back to Christchurch by an equally scenic route. There<br />

will be some time this afternoon to view the rebuilding of the city centre after the<br />

2010 and 2011 earthquakes. This evening we have a farewell dinner at the Curator’s<br />

House Restaurant.<br />

DAY 26 (B): Farewell to New Zealand. This morning we are transferred to Christchurch<br />

International Airport to join our direct daytime Singapore Airlines flight to Singapore.<br />

On arrival we transfer to a central four star hotel for overnight and breakfast.<br />

DAY 27 (B): Another full day to enjoy the many attractions of Singapore with tickets<br />

for the hop on, hop off bus and many attractions. Evening transfer to airport for<br />

overnight flight to London.<br />

DAY 28: We arrive at Heathrow early in the morning and will be met by transport to<br />

take us back to our homes.<br />
