The Sound of Music<br />
DAY 1: Door to Door service to the airport for your flight to Munich. On arrival a<br />
local coach will transfer us to our hotel in Salzburg. Time to settle in before dinner.<br />
DAY 2: Following breakfast we have included a guided walking tour of Salzburg, a<br />
city which is steeped in history and charm. Salzburg is one of Europe’s most<br />
attractive cities. Its many sights are close to one another so that a leisurely stroll<br />
through the Baroque showcase will reveal an irresistible variety of architecture,<br />
history and cultural attractions. We will visit various film locations from the film The<br />
Sound of Music including the Mirabell Gardens & Salzburg Cathedral. The afternoon<br />
is free to further explore or to return to the hotel.<br />
DAY 3: Today we have included full day excursion to Wolfgangsee, one of the most<br />
impressive lakes in Austria. Relax and enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful scenery of<br />
this region. Our first visit is to the picturesque village of St Gilgen from where we<br />
will take a boat trip over the lake to St Wolfgang. Plenty of time to explore this<br />
beautiful village, view the famous White Horse Inn, have lunch or maybe take the<br />
funicular railway up to the Schafberg to enjoy the spectacular views. On our return<br />
journey to Salzburg we visit the church at Mondsee where the Sound of Music<br />
wedding scene was filmed.<br />
DAY 4: After breakfast we leave the hotel on our included excursion through the<br />
beautiful countryside towards the Bavarian Alps. We have included a visit to The<br />
Kehlsteinhaus Hitler’s “Eagles Nest” retreat which sits on top of the mountain and<br />
has stupendous views across the Bavarian Mountains and the Salzburg Alps. This<br />
afternoon we have included a relaxing boat trip on the Konigsee.<br />
DAY 5: Free day to explore Salzburg further; maybe take a ride on the funicular to<br />
the Hohensalzburg Fortress the largest fully preserved fortress in central Europe. Or<br />
maybe just relax in one of the many cafes in the quaint squares and enjoy the sights<br />

Enjoy the serene, beautiful scenery of Austria in summer, the historical city of Salzburg & discover<br />
“The Sound of Music” story following The Von Trapp familiy footsteps.<br />
and sounds of this enchanting city. This evening we visit St Peter’s Stiftskeller for a<br />
unique candle lit Mozart Dinner Concert where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s most<br />
popular compositions are performed during dinner by local musicians in period<br />
costume. The traditional 18th century recipes, costumes and music will transport<br />
you back to Mozart’s Salzburg. (Our coach is only allowed to take us to the edge of<br />
the Old City. We will then have a five minute walk to the restaurant.)<br />
DAY 6: Following breakfast we bid farewell to Salzburg and transfer to Munich<br />
airport for our return flight to the UK and your Door to Door service home.<br />
