From the Daube to the Rhine<br />
DAY 1: Your Door to Door service will transfer you to the airport for your flight to<br />
Budapest where our local coach will be waiting to take us to our overnight hotel in<br />
time for dinner.<br />
DAY 2: Following breakfast we have included a guided tour of Budapest, a city steeped<br />
in history with its unique distinctive character & attractions. You will have plenty of<br />
free time to explore this city further before we board the ship later in the day. Tonight<br />
the crew will welcome you aboard with a cocktail drink before dinner is served.<br />
DAY 3: After breakfast the boat will sail to Esztergom, Hungary’s first capital, a small<br />
town on the banks of the Danube. Following lunch on board you will have a free<br />
afternoon to enjoy the town, maybe with a visit to the ancient Royal Palace & the<br />
many sites & monuments. We return to the boat late afternoon in time for dinner<br />
and an evening of entertainment. The boat will cruise towards Vienna.<br />
DAY 4: We arrive in the imperial city of Vienna and after lunch we have included a<br />
guided excursion to the Hofburg Palace, the principal residence of the Hapsburg<br />
dynasty with its magnificent architecture, exquisite décor & fascinating cultural<br />
treasures. We stay moored in Vienna overnight.<br />
DAY 5: Today we have included a guided tour of the city with a visit to Schonbrunn<br />
Palace, the summer residence of the Hapsburgs. We return to the boat for lunch and<br />
the rest of the afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the boat’s facilities or maybe do a<br />
little more exploring on your own.<br />
DAY 6: Enjoy breakfast on board whilst we sail through the beautiful scenery of the<br />
Austrian Wachau Valley. We arrive in Melk mid morning where we have included an<br />
excursion to Durnstein. Following lunch on board we visit the Abbey of Melk. We<br />
return to the boat and continue our cruise along the Danube.<br />
DAY 7: This morning we arrive in Passau on the Austria German border & following<br />
breakfast we enjoy a walking tour of the centre of this university city. We return to<br />
the boat for lunch & continue our cruise towards Regensburg.<br />
DAY 8: Today we have a guided tour of the historic centre of Regensburg. During our<br />
tour the boat will cruise to Kelheim where we rejoin in time for lunch. Here we leave<br />
the River Danube and join the Main Danube Canal.<br />
DAY 9: We arrive at Nuremberg after breakfast and we have a guided excursion of<br />
the city, known as the little jewel of the empire. We rejoin the boat before lunch and<br />
continue our cruise to Bamberg where we moor for the night.<br />
DAY 10: This morning we sail towards Schweinfurt where we will board a local coach<br />
for a tour to Rothenburg a magnificent medieval town perched high up on a hill. The<br />
boat will cruise to Kitzingen where will rejoin it in time for diner.<br />
DAY 11: Today we arrive in Wurzburg where we have included a guided walking tour<br />
of the town. Wurzburg is famous for the citadel. We rejoin the boat at Karlstad for<br />
lunch and continue our cruise through the very scenic part of the Main Valley to<br />
Wertheim.<br />
DAY 12: Today we cruise through the spectacular scenery towards Miltenberg where<br />
we have included a guided walking tour of the town. We return to the boat for lunch<br />
before sailing towards Aschaffenburg.<br />
DAY 13: Following breakfast we have a guided excursion of the city of Frankfurt. We<br />
return to the boat for lunch and continue our cruise to Mainz, where the River Main<br />
meets the mighty River Rhine here we have a short walking tour of the city with its<br />
1000 year old cathedral before we return to the boat to continue our cruise up the<br />
River Rhine.<br />
DAY 14: We continue our cruise passing through two of the largest locks and<br />
arriving in Strasbourg early afternoon. We disembark and our local coach will take us<br />
through the Black Forest to our hotel near Stuttgart for our overnight dinner bed<br />
and breakfast.<br />
DAY 15: Following breakfast our coach will transfer us to the airport for our return<br />
flight to the UK and your Door to Door Service home.<br />
