DAY 14 (B, L, D): After breakfast, we shall tour the renowned Cape Winelands. Our<br />

day will include a stroll through the historic town of Stellenbosch, a drive across the<br />

scenic Helshoogte Pass, two wine tastings and a cellar tour. We include lunch at the<br />

renowned Boschendal Estate. Later we drive into Cape Town for a three night stay at<br />

our hotel close to the sea in the suburb of Bantry Bay. (note – if the weather is good<br />

we may take the cable car up Table Mountain this afternoon instead of tomorrow<br />

morning).<br />

DAY 15 (B, D): This morning we have a Cape Town city sightseeing tour which will<br />

include an ascent of Table Mountain by cable car. The view of the city below, the sea<br />

beyond and the coastline heading south to Cape Point is stunning. Our tour will also<br />

include the city centre, District Six and Camps Bay. The tour will end at the Victoria<br />

and Albert Waterfront – a modern shopping complex built around the city’s historic<br />

docks. We have time for lunch here followed by free time before the coach takes us<br />

back to our hotel. This evening we go out to dinner at the Five Flies Restaurant in<br />

the city centre.<br />

DAY 16 (B, L, D): Today, see the spectacular southern peninsula, known as the ‘Fairest<br />

Cape’. Drive through Camps Bay and Llandudno – millionaire’s paradise, enjoy a Seal<br />

Island Cruise from Hout Bay, drive over Chapman’s Peak, visit the resident Penguin<br />

colony at Boulder’s Beach, visit the naval town of Simonstown and enjoy lunch at<br />

Bertha’s Restaurant. After lunch we continue into Table Mountain National Park to<br />

visit the Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point where a short funicular ride will take us<br />

to the famous view point. Our final dinner in South Africa will be at the Gold<br />

Restaurant in the city centre where a special selection of African and Cape Malay<br />

dishes will be served accompanied by African entertainment.<br />

DAY 17 (B): Our last day in South Africa! During the morning there will be an<br />

optional excursion by boat to Robben Island to tour this notorious former prison<br />

Victoria Falls Extension<br />

F Scheduled flights from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls and return F Two nights dinner, bed<br />

where Nelson Mandela was held for 23 years. For others the coach will make a later<br />

start from the hotel to the V&A Waterfront for some last minute shopping. Time for<br />

an early lunch here and then drive to the internationally acclaimed Kirstenbosch<br />

National Botanical Gardens before transferring to Cape Town International Airport<br />

for our overnight flight via Johannesburg to London.<br />

DAY 18: We arrive at Heathrow early in the morning and our transport will be<br />

waiting for the return journey back home.<br />

Optional Extension to Victoria Falls – From 6th November<br />

DAY A: Door to Door service from your home and then transfer to Heathrow<br />

Airport for an overnight flight by South African Airways to Johannesburg.<br />

DAY B (B, D): On arrival at Johannesburg Airport we transfer to a connecting South<br />

African Airways flight to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe where we shall be taken to the<br />

Victoria Falls Hotel for our two night stay. This five star hotel is a member of the<br />

Leading Hotels of the World and is one of the most famous hotels in Africa. It<br />

combines Edwardian colonial charm with modern facilities. We shall be staying in<br />

deluxe rooms. The rest of the day will be at leisure to take advantage of the close<br />

proximity of the Victoria Falls which can be accessed by a private path from our<br />

hotel.<br />

DAY C (B, D): This morning, after a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of the<br />

Victoria Falls known locally as the ‘Smoke that Thunders’. Here the Zambezi River<br />

plummets 360ft into a chasm almost a mile wide. In the late afternoon, we board<br />

the African Queen for an amazing sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River.<br />

DAY D (B, D): Morning at leisure before transferring to Victoria Falls Airport for a<br />

lunchtime flight to Johannesburg. On arrival we join our coach for the short journey<br />

to Pretoria where we shall have an orientation tour before arriving at our hotel<br />

where we join those who have not opted for the Victoria Falls extension.<br />

DAY E: We join the main itinerary as shown from day 3.<br />

PLEASE NOTE:<br />

PASSPORTS AND VISAS: UK nationals do not require a visa to enter South Africa.<br />

However, one is required for Zimbabwe. This can be obtained on arrival in Victoria<br />

Falls for a fee of 55 US Dollars (or the equivalent in sterling) cash.<br />

All passports should have at least six months validity on arrival in South Africa or<br />

Zimbabwe.<br />

MALARIA: Some areas on this tour (particularly Victoria Falls and Kruger National<br />

Park) are malarial and so it is essential to take appropriate precautions as advised by<br />

your GP.<br />
