Members are reminded that the badminton courts are<br />
available for open booking on Wednesdays from 8 pm<br />
onwards. This is the only weekday time that courts are not<br />
booked for league and ladder play.<br />
baDMINtON <strong>Club</strong> ChaMPIONshIPs<br />
Members are reminded that this year's Singles and Mixed<br />
Doubles <strong>Club</strong> Championships will run from <strong>February</strong> 2 - 5.<br />
Play will begin at 6 pm each evening, with an A/B/C and D<br />
format (guaranteeing each participant 3 matches). This event<br />
welcomes players of all levels. As a follow up, the Benny<br />
Hill and Doubles <strong>Club</strong> Championships will take place from<br />
March 2 - 5, following the same format. Cost for the event is<br />
$45 per player, regardless of the number of events entered.<br />

Masters returNs tO CwC<br />
The <strong>Club</strong> will host a Seniors and Masters event from<br />
<strong>February</strong> 20 - 22. This tournament, which begins at age 30<br />
and advances in 10 year increments, will begin play Friday at<br />
5 pm with social functions running both Friday and Saturday<br />
evening. Players may register through Badminton Alberta by<br />
going to their website at www.badmintonalberta.ca and<br />
following the prompts. Cost of the event is $75 per player<br />
and participants are limited to three events.<br />

winning the ladies doubles event at the Alberta Series, played<br />
last month at Mount Royal College. After securing her<br />
doubles win, Cloutier then proceeded to win the mixed<br />
doubles event with Jon Vandervet from Edmonton.<br />
