While almost all countries included serious and lasting bodily injury, life-threatening injury and use of weapons or dangerous objects in their definition of aggravated assault, in some countries a particularly vulnerable victim is not an aggravating circumstance, at least not one reflected in statistics (see table C.6.1). Exclusion of assault leading to death from aggravated assault data is not possible for several countries (see table C.6.2).
