ABSTRACT
This work is a part of the project "Technical proposal for thermal comfort in rural houses
located in Peru between 3,000 and 5,000 m.o.s.l.", which is directed for CER-UNI. The
network "Use of renewal energies and bio-climatic design in houses and buildings of social
interest" and FAUA-UNI are also members of the Project.
This paper is about technological and environmental diagnosis in two selected high lands
houses at Ayacucho and Puno. The methodology employed included several components
such as: the information identification; the direct observations and surveys to the local
population and community representatives; the use of both local-native and usual
technologies and materials review; the research in to improve seismic behavior, the initial
thermal analysis and diagnosis of the project.
Finally, the architectonic proposals are shown which represent preliminary conclusions in
order to improve high lands houses.
