Fiestas Patronales del Rincón Mágico

uestra señora de Santa Ana. Cuenta la
historia que unos nativos trasladaban una carga y
decidieron pernoctar en Sihuatehuacan (ciudad
de las sacerdotisas). Al intentar volver a la
jornada y seguir su camino, el bulto que llevaban
no se podía arrancar del suelo. Al inspeccionar
su contenido, descubrieron en el interior una
bella y desconocida imagen, una virgen de ojos
morenos, acompañada de una dulce niña.
Jorge Lardé y Larín afirma que el obispo Bernardino
Villalpando, quien salió de Guatemala en 1569,
falleció en el antiguo pueblo de Sihuatehuacan,
al que él le dio el nombre y la advocación de
Santa Ana, sustituyendo el nombre indígena.
Desde entonces, las fiestas patronales se celebran
en el mes de julio, realizándose a partir del día
17 y culminando el día 26 con una procesión
concurrida por la mayor parte de santanecos.
