Izabella BADIU is Senior Lecturer and Head of the Applied Modern Languages Department at the
Faculty of Letters, Babeş-Bolyai University Cluj. Former ―élève étrangère‖ at École Normale
Supérieure, she has a BA (1996) in modern languages and a MA (1997) in comparative literature
from Université de Paris IV – Sorbonne. She has earned her PhD through a joint degree (2003) and
has published it under the title Métamorphoses de l’écriture diariste à l’âge contemporain (Casa
Cărţii de Ştiinţă, Cluj-Napoca, 2005). She has also published several dozens of articles and
translations.
