The National Research Fund was set up by the Law of May 31, 1999 in order to stimulate research
activities in Luxembourg with the aim
» to create new competence and knowledge,
» to strengthen existing competence and knowledge and
» to develop national and international synergies in order to increase the attractiveness of
Luxembourg as a scientific and economic site of excellence.

Multiannual national R&D priority programmes:
The following multiannual research programmes have been launched since 2000:

for all socio-economic actors (SE-COM)
How to participate in these programmes?
In the framework of these programmes, the Fund announces periodic calls for research projects.
The selected projects benefit from a financial contribution granted by the Fund.
Further information concerning the calls for research projects can be found on the internet site
of the Fund www.fnr.lu.
To whom are the calls addressed?
Calls are addressed to public institutions, Luxembourg administrations and public establishments
authorized to undertake R&D activities or technology transfer in their respective fields of activity.
