In this study, the problems encountered in eco-design and LCA of railway traction components<br />

have been highlighted. To overcome these problems, solutions are proposed to help the designer through<br />

a process of eco-design. Improving environmental performance is ensured by optimization algorithms that<br />

are able to provide a set of trade-offs between two conflicting criteria: ecological and economic.<br />
