Le Groupe consultatif <strong>pour</strong> <strong>la</strong> recherche agrico<strong>le</strong> internationa<strong>le</strong> (GCRAI)Le Groupe consultatif <strong>pour</strong> <strong>la</strong> recherche agrico<strong>le</strong> internationa<strong>le</strong> (GCRAI) est un consortium rassemb<strong>la</strong>nt quelque cinquante-troisbail<strong>le</strong>urs <strong>de</strong> fonds publics et privés qui apportent un appui financier à seize centres internationaux <strong>de</strong> recherche agrico<strong>le</strong>, dontl’ADRAO. Fondé en 1971, <strong>le</strong> GCRAI est parrainé par l’Organisation <strong>de</strong>s Nations Unies <strong>pour</strong> l’alimentation et l’agriculture(FAO), <strong>le</strong> Programme <strong>de</strong>s Nations Unies <strong>pour</strong> <strong>le</strong> développement (PNUD), <strong>le</strong> Programme <strong>de</strong>s Nations Unies <strong>pour</strong> l’environnement(PNUE) et <strong>la</strong> Banque mondia<strong>le</strong>.Le GCRAI a <strong>pour</strong> mission <strong>de</strong> contribuer à l’accroissement durab<strong>le</strong> <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> production agrico<strong>le</strong> et à <strong>la</strong> sécurité alimentaire dans<strong>le</strong>s pays en développement. A cet effet, ses activités <strong>de</strong> recherche sont articulées autour <strong>de</strong> cinq axes : accroissement <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong>productivité, protection <strong>de</strong> l’environnement, préservation <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> biodiversité, amélioration <strong>de</strong>s politiques et renforcement <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong>recherche nationa<strong>le</strong>.
