matter! As for the teaching, Burri gave so much
to everyone who had the luck to spend time with
him and work for him, me included. I’ve always
considered it a great privilege and will be eternally
grateful for the trust he placed in me, but
I wish he were still here. I’d have so many more
things to ask him!
With respect to everything you did later with
Burri, what role do you assign to Combustion
in your development as a photographer?
AA: Out of all the things I have done, and
not just with him, it is absolutely the one I
like best! For me it has a symbolic value. It
was an initiation that allowed me to discover
and appreciate the great artist’s “work” in all
its complexity. That’s why I wanted to pres-

agli insegnamenti, Burri ha dato tanto a tutti
quelli che hanno avuto la fortuna di frequentarlo
e di lavorare per lui, me compresa. L’ho sempre

grata per la fiducia concessami, ma vorrei
che fosse ancora qui, avrei ancora tante cose da

Rispetto a tutto quello che hai fatto in seguito con
