I’m very happy to have been the only person
to photograph the Combustion!
CS: I have to correct you: before you, in the sixties,
Ugo Mulas had photographed Burri working
on another combustion.
AA: It’s true, but without wishing to detract
in any way from one of the photographers I
admire most, I have to say that his pictures
in black and white don’t convey the power
of the torch like my ones in color!
All the way though the work I felt intense
Capodimonte per documentare tutta l’esposizione,
naturalmente c’era anche Nemo e
fra gli artisti ricordo Melotti [Fausto] e Portoghesi
[Paolo].
CS: Burri si dilettava di fotografia ed era appassionato
di tutte le novità che uscivano in fatto
di apparecchi fotografici: mi regalò la prima
Nikomat elettronica, l’aveva acquistata negli
Stati Uniti, in Italia non era ancora in vendita.
