Alberto Burri nelle sale del
museo di Capodimonte
durante l’allestimento di una
sua mostra, Napoli, 1978
This and facing page,
Alberto Burri at the Museo
di Capodimonte during
the mounting of one of his
exhibitions. Naples, 1978
ent it again in this exhibition at Sapone’s.
I’m very happy to have been the only person
to photograph the Combustion!
CS: I have to correct you: before you, in the sixties,
Ugo Mulas had photographed Burri working
on another combustion.
AA: It’s true, but without wishing to detract
in any way from one of the photographers I
admire most, I have to say that his pictures
in black and white don’t convey the power
of the torch like my ones in color!
All the way though the work I felt intense
Capodimonte per documentare tutta l’esposizione,
naturalmente c’era anche Nemo e
fra gli artisti ricordo Melotti [Fausto] e Portoghesi
[Paolo].
CS: Burri si dilettava di fotografia ed era appassionato
di tutte le novità che uscivano in fatto
di apparecchi fotografici: mi regalò la prima
Nikomat elettronica, l’aveva acquistata negli
Stati Uniti, in Italia non era ancora in vendita.
