Mentorship<br />

WISTA believes that young women<br />

should be attracted into the maritime<br />

industry. To assist this, WISTA has<br />

teamed up with the World Maritime<br />

University (WMU) to set up a mentorship<br />

scheme. Master of Science students<br />

who have opted for a thesis can<br />

apply. It is envisaged that the WISTA<br />

scholar will be assigned a project and<br />

will have a one month internship with a<br />

company. During that time the WISTA<br />

scholar will be mentored by a WISTA<br />

member. WISTA and WMU will be<br />

Rosberg, at Copenhagen Business School,<br />

announced at the conference that two<br />

WISTA-members will receive scholarships<br />

for the Executive MBA in Shipping<br />

and Logistics.<br />

Marita Scott emphasised. “Th at means<br />

men must look outside their traditional<br />

networks to fi nd competence.”<br />

”Within the WISTA membership<br />

book we are setting up a database of<br />

WISTA board members and potential<br />

WISTA board members,” said Scott. “Th is<br />

database should be the fi rst port of call for<br />

the shipping industry when looking for a<br />

professional board member.”<br />
