ABSTRACT<br />

This dissertation is the result of a study that had as purpose T-shirt prints<br />

focused on which could be considered representation of ideas, thus expressing<br />

feelings, preferences and opinions by those who wear them on their own T-shirts.<br />

As an aim we looked to those T-shirt prints as representatives of ideas,<br />

present since a beginning into youth contraculture revolution of sixthies up to<br />

nowadays. In order to reinforce such checkings I selected five topics of T-shirt<br />

prints constantly reported during all the time trajectory established, namely: order<br />

phrases, Che Guevara, Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Coke, besides to certify that<br />

the creation of T-shirt prints belongs to a variety of activities from design<br />

professionals, however also produced by professionals of fashion and art sectors.<br />

To reach the purposes established, I accomplished a search towards the<br />

necessary knowledge by means of a reference bibliography, Internet searches,<br />

contact with professionals and professors of design, fashion and art sectors, as<br />

well as visitations to exhibitions and companies that sell T-shirts, besides,<br />

obviously, the observation of its target public.<br />
