Foram descritas as principais atividades executadas, visitadas com auxílio dos técnicos que atuam na região, bem como refletir sobre a tilapicultura e o uso múltiplo dos reservatórios, no contexto da implementação do desenvolvimento da aqüicultura, com aproveitamento das potencialidades econômicas e sociais endógenas, numa perspectiva sustentável e participativa. THE PISCICULTURE IN THE SÃO FRANCISCO RIVER: IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONCILIATE THE WATER TANKS` MULTIPLE UTILIZATION? Abstract - The datums that are exposed in this work proceed from a technical inspection made by the group of the Program of Tutorial Education (PTE) of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco`s Fishery Engineering Course, which made in loco observations of the aquicolous enterprises located in the São Francisco River´s submedium path. The mentioned group made a description of the principal spots surveyed with the help of all experts that word in the region, and alto made a reflection about the tilapiaculture and the multiple use of the water tanks comprised in the context of the implementation of the aquiculture´s development, including the good use of the endogenous economic and social potentialities, under a sustainable and participant perspective.
