Nascido em São Paulo, em 1967, Nazareno é
desenhista, escultor e artista multimídia. Ao se
aproximar do universo lúdico, ele constrói uma
poética delicada, carregada de questões relativas à
infância, à memória e ao transcorrer do tempo.
Born in São Paulo in 1967, Nazareno
draws, sculpts and works with
multimedia. Approaching the universe of
play, he constructs a delicate poetic, laden
with questions relating to childhood,
memory and the passage of time.
Ao se aproximar das imagens e dos
textos desses trabalhos, o visitante
se percebe refletido na superfície
metálica, numa evocação imediata
do mito de Narciso, quando se vê
acidentalmente refletido na água.
Inerente à obra e sua concepção,
esse reflexo aguça os sentidos do
espectador e ativa a consciência de
sua presença tanto no espaço físico
quanto no espaço da representação,
que é a obra em si. Chama também a
atenção para a subjetividade implícita
em qualquer ato de observação e
para o fato de uma obra de arte só
completar seu ciclo integral quando
em contato com um espectador.
Upon approaching the images and
texts of these works, the visitor notices
his own reflection in the metallic
surface, in an immediate evocation
of the myth of Narcissus, who
accidentally sees himself reflected
in the water. Inherent in the work
and its conception, this reflection
sharpens the viewers’s senses and
activates the awareness of his
presence both in physical space and
in the representational space, which
is the artwork itself. It also draws
attention to the subjectivity implicit in
any act of observation and to the fact
that a work of art only completes its
cycle when in contact with a viewers.
