Mauren Lazzaretti, secretária do meio ambiente do Mato Grosso, cuja área de floresta amazônica supera os 60%, comenta sobre sua carreira e os desafios do desenvolvimento das atividades florestais no Estado. In this case, caring is not just about preserving but about ensuring that forests can be kept standing and used in the best possible way by those who live nearby and depend on them. Mauren Lazzaretti, Secretary of the Environment for the State of Mato Grosso, where the Amazon rainforest exceeds 60% of the area in the State, comments on her career and the challenges of developing forestry activities in the State. ENTREVISTA Mauren Lazzaretti ATIVIDADE/ ACTIVITY: Assumiu a Sema/MT (Secretaria de Estado de Meio Ambiente de Mato Grosso), em janeiro de 2019, e foi reconduzida ao cargo em 1º de janeiro de 2023, durante a cerimônia de posse do governador Mauro Mendes para o seu segundo mandato. É presidente da ABEMA (Associação Brasileira de Entidades Estaduais de Meio Ambiente), associação que reúne as 26 secretarias de Estado e 22 autarquias e fundações de meio ambiente do Brasil. A experiência na área ambiental e na gestão pública inclui passagens pela própria Sema, atuando como secretária adjunta de Licenciamento Ambiental e Recursos Hídricos entre 2010 e 2012, além de 2016 e 2017. A gestora possui especialização em Direito Tributário, Perícia e Auditoria Ambiental e Processo Civil. Na carreira jurídica, ela também foi vice-presidente da Comissão do Meio Ambiente da Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil entre 2013 e 2016 e presidiu a mesma comissão no biênio 2016/2018. Appointed the State of Mato Grosso Secretariat for the Environment (Sema/MT) in January 2019 and reappointed to the position on January 1, 2023, during the inauguration ceremony of Governor Mauro Mendes for his second term. She is President of the Brazilian Association of State Environmental Entities (Abema), an association that brings together the 26 State Secretariats and 22 environmental agencies and foundations in Brazil. Her experience in the environmental area and public management includes periods at Sema itself, serving as Assistant Secretary of Environmental Licensing and Water Resources between 2010 and 2012, as well as between 2016 and 2017. She studied Tax Law, Inspection, Environmental Auditing, and Civil Procedure. In her legal career, she was also Vice-president of the Environment Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association between 2013 and 2016 and chaired the Commission between 2016 and 2018. 34 www.referenciaflorestal.com.br
