Iraq rank first place in shoe export
While Iraq took the first place with 81 million and
293 thousand dollars in shoe export in 2016, Turkey,
Germany preferred 44 million and 143 thousand
dollars of Turkish shoe. Saudi Arabia took the third
place with 37 million and 87 thousand dollars in
shoe export. However, Iran, is the leading country
that increased the Turkish Shoe Export higher in
2016. While, our shoe export was 11 million and 307
thousand dollars in 2015, it raised to 171.5 and was
30 million and 702 thousand dollars. While Germany
took the first place in shoe export with 6 million and
579 thousand dollars in Aegean Region, England
took the second place with 3 million and 671 thousand
dollars and Italy took the third pale with 3 million
and 167 thousand dollars. A shoe export of 249
thousand dollars was made to United Arab Emirates
in 2016 from Aegean Region. Number of countries
that Aegean Region make export reached to 84.
In 2016, Shoe exporters, who bring in 708 million dollars
of foreign currency to our country by making
the 51% of export of leather and leather materials in
Turkey, organize ‘’Shoe Industry Trade Committee’’
oriented at the Middle East’s attraction centre Dubai,
between 12-15 March in 2017 in order to maintain
their success in export. ‘’Shoe Industry Trade
Committee’’ that will be held in Aegean Leather
and Leather Material Exporter’s association will welcome
9 shoe exporter companies. Erkan Zandar,
Aegean Leather and Leather Materials Exporter’s
association vice president, noted that in the Turkish
shoe export will participate the biggest export markets
of the Middle East Countries, particularly Iraq
