Wanju Café A Balancing 균형 잡힌 막( 幕 ) Act In the case of Awon, opposites not only attract but create a unified space. “아원”은, 서로 상반되는 요소들이 매력적임과 동시에 하나의 통일된 공간을 창조한다. Words & Photos by Bree Dunn Awon is a cultural center located discreetly within the mountains of Wanju County, a rural area that almost entirely surrounds Jeonju-city. Within the same space, modern and traditional elements coexist in harmony, acting as a place that feels both current and untouched by civilization. It is an all encompassing space consisting of a cafe, a gallery, an observatory and traditional hanoks. “아원”은 전주를 거의 감싸고 있는 전원 지역인 완주의 산 속 조용한 곳에 위치한 문화 중심지이다. 같은 공간에서 현대적인 요소와 전통적인 요소들이 조화롭게 공존하며, 현대적이면서도 문명의 손길이 닿지 않은 장소처럼 보인다. 아원은 카페, 미술관, 전망대, 전통 한옥을 아우르는 공간이다. 43
