the suit features a removable inner jacket and trousers with a waterproof, wind resistant and
breathable Gore-Tex Performance Shell membrane. The Kalahari has ventilation openings with zipper
closures at the sleeves, sides, elbows, on the back between the shoulderblades, and at the thighs. The
seat of the trousers feature the temperature-regulating Rukka AirCushion System and Antiglide-
Keprotec to prevent slipping. The inner sides of the trouser legs have leather trim that give riders a
good grip on a bike’s petrol tank when riding in a standing position.
The suit will be available in early 2009. Price: jacket €699, trousers €499; colours: black/red and
black/brown; sizes 46 to 62 (the trousers also are available in short sizes 48 to 66, and tall sizes 48 to
58).

Rukka präsentiert den neuen Gore-Tex Touren-Lederanzug „Merlin“
Mit „Merlin“ nimmt Rukka einen zweiten wasserdichten „All Weather“ Anzug aus dem innovativen
Gore-Tex Pro Shell Lederlaminat ins Programm. Mit dem neuen Pro Shell Lederlaminat hat Gore ein
revolutionäres Material entwickelt, das die Abriebfestigkeit von hochwertigem Leder mit dem Komfort
und der aktiven Sicherheit eines wasser- und winddichten, atmungsaktiven Gore-Tex Textilanzugs
verbindet. Das neuartige Laminat wird aus hydrophobiertem Leder, einer „Gore-Tex Pro-Shell“
Klimamembran und ein bis zwei Lagen eines leichten Schutzgewebes laminiert. Dieser Aufbau bürgt für
absolute Wasser- und Winddichtigkeit sowie höchste Atmungsaktivität und verhindert ein Vollsaugen
des Materials bei Regen.
Nun stellen die Finnen der High-End-Kombi aus dem neuen Laminat ein zweites Modell namens
„Merlin“ im speziell auf Tourenfahrer abgestimmten zweiteiligen Schnitt zur Seite. Der Neue wartet mit
atmungsaktiven CE-Protektoren, einer entnehmbaren Thermoweste und einem abnehmbaren
Sturmkragen aus elastischem Gore-Tex Stretch auf. Das teilweise perforierte Leder ist mit TFL Cool
behandelt, das ein Aufheizen des Laminats bei Sonneneinstrahlung verhindert und für angenehme
Temperatur im Anzug sorgt. Ab Januar 2009 ist „Merlin“ in den Größen 46 bis 62 beim Rukka Händler
erhältlich. Die Jacke kostet 1.200 Euro, die Hose 999 Euro.

With the “Merlin”, Rukka is adding to its line of products a second waterproof, all weather suit made of
the innovative Gore-Tex Pro Shell leather laminate. Gore’s new Pro Shell leather laminate is a
revolutionary material that combines the abrasion resistance of high quality leather with the comfort
and active safety of a waterproof, wind-resistant, breathable Gore-Tex suit. The new laminate is
composed of waterproofed leather, a Gore-Tex Pro-Shell climatic membrane and one to two layers of a
lightweight protective fabric. This combination ensures a material that is absolutely waterproof and
wind-resistant with maximum breathability and will not soak through in the rain.
