Now the Finnish company is adding a second version of this high-end suit made of the new laminate
— the “Merlin”, which features a two piece design specially intended for touring riders. The new
product offers breathable CE protectors, a removable thermal vest and a removable storm collar made
of elastic Gore-Tex Stretch. The leather is partly perforated and treated with TFL Cool, which prevents
the laminate from becoming hot in the sun and ensures a comfortable temperature in the suit. The
“Merlin” will be available from Rukka dealers from January 2009 (sizes 46 to 62). The jacket costs
€1,200, and the price of the trousers is €999.

Flexibel und sicher: die neuen elastischen Rukka Fahrerkombis „Mika“ und „Katja“
Komfortabler geht es kaum: Rukka bringt den ersten Anzug aus elastischem Cordura Stretch namens
„Mika“ auf den Markt. Und unter dem Namen „Katja“ ist eine auf die weibliche Anatomie
zugeschnittene Version erhältlich.
Die Elastizität des Materials ergibt eine exzellente Bewegungsfreiheit, trotzdem bietet es die volle passive
Sicherheit von konventionellem Cordura. Im Ernstfall gewähren zudem atmungsaktive CE-Protektoren
sowie Dynatec Verstärkungen an den Sturzzonen Schutz.
Für perfekten Wetterschutz sorgt die als Z-Liner verarbeitete Gore-Tex Performance Shell Membran,
außerdem sind Mika und Katja mit einem herausnehmbaren Thermofutter und einem abnehmbaren
Gore-Tex Stretch Sturmkragen versehen. Am Ärmelabschluss hält eine Gore-Tex Manschette Wind und
Regen wirksam vom Fahrer fern, und am Kragenabschluss kommt erstmals bei Rukka ein kräftiger und
Material schonender Magnetverschluss zum Einsatz. Am Gesäß sorgt ein Besatz mit Keprotec Antiglide für
sicheren Halt auf der Sitzbank, an der Gesäßinnenseite wirkt das Rukka AirCushion System als
wirkungsvoller Klimapuffer. „Mika“ wird in den Größen 46 bis 66 aufgelegt, für „Katja“ stehen die Größen
34 bis 50 zur Auswahl. Beide Hosen werden zusätzlich in jeder Größe als Kurz- oder Langversion

Greater comfort is virtually impossible to find: Rukka is bringing the first suit made of Cordura stretch
fabric onto the market — the “Mika“. The company also is presenting the “Katja” version of the suit,
which is tailored for women.
The elasticity of the material provides excellent freedom of movement but also the highest degree of
passive safety offered by conventional Cordura. In the event of a spill or accident, protection is also
provided by breathable CE protectors and Dynatec reinforcements at abrasion contact points.
