“It's incredible that the Andermatt Swiss Alps Golf<br />
Course has already reached such a high standard in<br />
its first official year. It appears in top condition and<br />
has all the qualities needed for an important tournament<br />
course,” said André Bossert, golf touring pro and<br />
one of the leading Senior European Tour players, on<br />
leaving the course after the Swiss PGA Championships<br />
last year. As for the ambitions of the Andermatt<br />
Swiss Alps Golf Course as a leading premium golf<br />
course, nothing has changed in its second year – on<br />
the contrary. “The Andermatt golfing region, with its<br />
four golf courses at the foot of the Saint-Gotthard<br />
Massif, has developed into an international golfing<br />
destination since it became the first Swiss member of<br />
the Open Golf Club, the association of premium golf<br />
clubs,” explained the Golf Director, Patrick A. Widmer.<br />
The Open Golf Club has focused its activities for 40<br />
years on investing in golf courses and resorts, managing<br />
golf clubs and hotels as well as marketing<br />

Portugal and Italy. Now, with the Andermatt Swiss<br />
Alps Golf Course, the prestigious association has also<br />
been joined by one of the most attractive courses in<br />
Switzerland,” explained Widmer.<br />
The Andermatt Swiss Alps Golf Course demonstrated<br />
its ability to integrate seamlessly into this league last<br />
year, when it was chosen as Best in Switzerland at the<br />
World Golf Awards. It has been nominated again for<br />
this award in <strong>2017</strong>.<br />
