The brilliant pianist Sir András Schiff gave an
astounding performance to a spellbound audience in
St Jakob’s Church at Klosters Music 2019.
Exceptional pianist Kit Armstrong played Haydn
and Mendelssohn piano concertos accompanied by
the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie last summer.

The evening ends with the Quartet’s very
own arrangements of Gershwin’s ‘Love is
here to stay’ and ‘Fascinating Rhythm’.
On 2nd August Klosters Music presents
a Mozart Opera Gala with the superstar
soprano Elsa Dreisig who recently
had a triumph with her performance in
the Magic Flute at the Royal Opera House
Covent Garden. The programme will include
the Overtures and Arias from The
Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, Don
Giovanni, Idomeneo and Cosi fan tutti. The
Basel Chamber Orchestra will be conducted
by one of the most outstanding talents to
emerge on the European music scene in
recent years, Riccardo Minasi.
The Berlin based string quartets, the
Schumann Quartet and Novus Quartet, join
forces with Clarinet player Pablo Baragan
in St Jacob’s Church on 3rd August for an
evening of Beethoven, Mozart (Clarinet
Quintet) and the Mendelssohn Octet, the
perfect classical programme! This popular
concert opens with an early Beethoven
quartet which is followed by Mozart’s much
loved Clarinet Quintet and concludes with
Mendelssohn’s effervescent Octet.
On the 4th August the world’s finest
Blockflote player, Maurice Steger joins
forces with the brilliant ensemble Il Pomo
d’Oro, a regular guest in Europe’s most
prestigious concert halls and festivals, for
a programme of early classical masterpieces.
Maurice has invited the rising star
cellist Christoph Croise, (already known to
Klosters audiences from his Musical Olympus
Concert earlier this year) to perform
Haydn’s Cello Concerto in Cmajor. The
programme will close with Mozart’s Eine
Kleine Nachtmusik, one of the most popular
classical pieces of all time.
Beethoven’s String Quartet, “Razumovsky”
is paired with Schubert’s immortal
Piano Quintet, “The Trout” on the 5th August
in St Jacob’s Church. The internationally
renowned Pavel Haas Quartet based in
Prague will be joined by the brilliant pianist
Boris Giltburg for this unmissable concert.
On the 7th and 8th August Die Deutsche
Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, one of
Europe’s very finest orchestras returns to
Klosters conducted by Pablo Heras Casado,
one of the most sought-after conductors of
his generation. The programmes are built
around Beethoven’s Third Symphony, the
“Eroica”, and the most famous symphony
ever written, Beethoven’s Fifth. Beethoven
drew his inspiration from nature so this will
be a unique opportunity to hear his great
symphony in the heart of the mountains
in Klosters. The power of this music is
immense, and the audience will be blown
away! The following evening the brilliant
violinist Veronica Eberle will join the Orchestra
for Beethoven’s Violin Concerto and
the highly acclaimed German pianist Martin
Helmchen will perform the “Emperor”
Concerto. These landmark concerts will
each open with a pair of Rossini Overtures:
“William Tell” and the “Barber of Seville”.
Klosters Music will close with one of
the very greatest artists of our time. Sir
Andras Schiff will perform Beethoven’s last
three piano sonatas, Opus 109, 110 and 111
which are the culmination of Beethoven’s
creative life. This will be an experience of a
lifetime in the perfect acoustics of St Jacob’s
