DESIGN IST FUNKTIONALITÄT, ÄSTHETIK IST EIN BONUS. SO WIE IM BLUE SPA,
ENTWORFEN VON STAR-ARCHITEKTIN ANDRÉE PUTMAN. DAS AUSSERGEWÖHNLICHE
DESIGN TUT OBENDREIN SOGAR DER GESUNDHEIT GUT
VON ANJA DELASTIK
Licht ist ein elementarer Bestandteil
unserer Lebenswelt, gibt uns ein
Gefühl der Sicherheit, versorgt uns mit
Wärme, beeinflusst unser Befinden und
unsere Leistungsfähigkeit. Kein Wunder
also, dass wir uns auch in Innenräumen
dann oftmals am wohlsten fühlen, wenn
sie hell, freundlich und lichtdurchflutet
sind. Das wusste natürlich auch die
französische Star-Architektin Andrée
Putman, die für das luxuriöse Design
des Blue Spa verantwortlich zeichnete.
Zeitlebens nutze sie die Kraft des Lichts,
suchte nach immer neuen Wegen, Licht
so einzusetzen, dass es Räumen eine
neue Klarheit, Perspektive und Dimension
verleiht.
Mit seiner beeindruckenden Glasfront
und einer Sonnenterrasse, die einen
atemberaubenden Panorama-Blick über
die Dächer Münchens gewährt, ist das
1.300 m 2 große und tageslichtdurchflutete
Wellness-Refugium des Hotel Bayerischer
Hof ein Paradebeispiel für dieses
Design-Prinzip. Der Pool-Bereich des
Blue Spa, der auch als einzigartige Location
für Pool Partys und Cocktail-Empfänge
dient, ist dabei ein Highlight im
doppelten Wortsinn: Das Glasdach lässt
sich komplett öffnen – und das ist weit
mehr als nur ein Design-Gimmick, sondern
auch ein echter Wellness-Benefit.
Denn Sonnenlicht hält nicht nur unsere
Körperfunktionen aufrecht, sondern
hat zudem einen positiven Effekt auf
unsere kognitiven Fähigkeiten, unsere
subjektive Wachheit und unsere Stimmung.
Viele hormonelle und neuronale
Prozesse werden vom Sonnenlicht beeinflusst.
Stichwort: Vitamin D. Dieses
Hormon wird größtenteils über die Haut
produziert, doch dafür ist eine gewisse
Dosis an UVB-Strahlen notwendig.
steuert Sonnenlicht unsere innere
Uhr, also unsere circadiane Rhythmik.
Kommt die aus dem Takt, weil wir beispielsweise
morgens kein Sonnenlicht
bekommen, kann es passieren, dass
unser Körper abends nicht genügend
Melatonin produziert. Die Folge: Schlafprobleme.
Auch deshalb raten Experten
dazu, sich morgens nach dem Aufstehen
mindestens 20 Minuten unter freiem
Himmel aufzuhalten. Das bei Sonnenschein
geöffnete Glasdach des Blue Spa
Pools macht’s möglich!
Der Pool des Blue Spa ist täglich von 7:00 Uhr
bis 20:00 Uhr geöffnet. Weitere Infos unter:
LET THERE BE LIGHT
DESIGN IS FUNCTIONALITY,
AESTHETICS IS A BONUS.
LIKE IN THE BLUE SPA,
DESIGNED BY STAR ARCHI-
TECT ANDRÉE PUTMAN.
ITS EXTRAORDINARY
DESIGN IS EVEN GOOD
FOR YOUR HEALTH.
Light is an elementary component of our
living environment, gives us a feeling of
security, provides us with warmth, influences
our well-being and our performance.
So it’s no wonder that we also feel
most comfortable indoors when they are
bright, friendly and flooded with light. Of
course, the French star architect Andrée
Putman, who was responsible for the luxurious
design of the Blue Spa, also knew
this. Throughout her life, she used the power
of light, always looking for new ways
to use light to give rooms a new clarity,
perspective and dimension.
With its impressive glass front and a sun
terrace offering a breathtaking panoramic
view over the roofs of Munich, the
1,300 m2 wellness retreat of the Hotel
Bayerischer Hof, flooded with daylight, is
a prime example of this design principle.
The pool area of the Blue Spa, which also
serves as a unique location for pool parties
and cocktail receptions, is a highlight
in both senses of the word: the glass roof
can be opened completely - and that is far
more than just a design gimmick, but also
a real wellness benefit.
Because sunlight not only maintains our
bodily functions, but also has a positive
effect on our cognitive abilities, our subjective
alertness and our mood. Many
hormonal and neuronal processes are influenced
by sunlight. Keyword: vitamin D.
This hormone is largely produced through
the skin, but a certain dose of UVB rays
is necessary for this. From October to
March, however, the angle of incidence of
sunlight in our latitudes is too shallow for
this. Only now in summer is it at all possible
(depending on skin type) to get enough
sun to replenish our vitamin D3 stores.
Sunlight also controls our inner clock, our
circadian rhythm. If it gets out of sync, for
example because we don’t get sunlight in
the morning, our body may not produce
enough melatonin in the evening. The result:
sleep problems. This is another reason
why experts recommend spending at
least 20 minutes outdoors in the morning
after getting up. The glass roof of the Blue
Spa Pool, which is open when the sun shines,
makes it possible!
The Blue Spa pool is open daily from 7:00 am
to 8:00 pm. More information under:
