Saft takes a pro-active approach to environmental needs,
anticipating developments and supporting legislators at various
levels. Saft complies with the RoHS and REACH legislation,
often exceeding compliance requirements.
Special efforts have been reserved for Saft’s pioneering Life Cycle
Assessment (LCA) programme, which leads to a much better
understanding of the environmental impacts of batteries in their
manufacturing, use, and end-of-life phases. LCA provides a series
of impact measurements that were not previously available.
They can be used by customers for their own LCA programmes.
This will remain a key strategic area of development for Saft
in the coming years.
