proto-type design or items not meeting provenness criteria specified above shall not be<br />

offered.<br />

1.2.4 All documentation submitted by the vendor including their quotation,<br />

catalogues, drawings, installation, operation and maintenance manuals etc. shall be in<br />

English language only.<br />

1.2.5 Vendor shall also quote <strong>for</strong><br />

a) Two years' operational spares <strong>for</strong> each pressure relief valve and its accessories<br />

which shall include nozzle, disc insert, guide pilot etc. as a minimum.<br />

b) Any special tools and tackles needed <strong>for</strong> maintenance work. Vendor must certify<br />

in his offer in case no special tools are necessary.<br />

1.3 Drawing and data<br />

1.3.1 Detailed drawings, data, catalogues and manuals required from the vendor are<br />

indicated by the purchaser in vendor data requirement sheets. The required number of<br />

reproducible, prints and soft copies shall be dispatched to the address mentioned,<br />

adhering to the time limits indicated.<br />

1.3.2 Final documentation consisting of design data, installation manual, operation and<br />

maintenance manual etc. submitted by the vendor after placement of purchase order<br />

shall include the following as a minimum :<br />

a) Specification sheet <strong>for</strong> each pressure relief valve and its accessories<br />

b) Certified drawing sheets <strong>for</strong> each pressure relief valve and accessories, which<br />

shall provide dimensional details, internal construction details, end connection details,<br />

weight and material of construction.<br />

c) Copy of type test certificates.<br />

d) Copy of test certificates <strong>for</strong> all the tests indicated in clause 4.0 of this<br />

<strong>specification</strong>.<br />

e) Installation procedure <strong>for</strong> Pressure relief valve and its accessories.<br />

f) Calibration and maintenance procedure including replacement of internals<br />

wherever applicable.<br />

2.0 DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION<br />

2.1 Valve Design<br />

2.1.1 The definitions of various terminologies used in purchaser's data sheets are as<br />

per clause 1.2 of API RP 520 part I.<br />

2.1.2 Unless specified otherwise, all pressure relief valves shall be full nozzle full lift<br />

type and all relief valves in thermal safety application shall be modified nozzle type.<br />

2.1.3 For flanged pressure relief valves, the valve inlet and outlet size, the orifice<br />

designation and corresponding relieving area shall be as per API 526<br />

2.1.4 The design of pressure relief valves in steam service under IBR design code shall<br />

be governed by Regulation 294 and regulation 295 of IBR. However where design code<br />
