8.4.7 Wiring shall con<strong>for</strong>m to the following color code:<br />

24 VDC power : +ve Red -ve Black<br />

I/O signal : +ve Black -ve White<br />

Chassis earth : Green w/ yellow stripe<br />

Instrument earth : Green<br />

9.0 INSPECTION AND TESTING<br />

9.1 GENERAL<br />

PURCHASER may visit the VENDOR’s plant at any time and witness all testing and quality<br />

control procedures that may take place during fabrication and final testing.<br />

9.2 PRODUCTION AND CONFORMANCE TESTS<br />

9.3.1 The VENDOR shall per<strong>for</strong>m flow computer component and system testing to ensure high<br />

reliability and proper operation. The VENDOR shall document all testing and shall deliver<br />

such documentation to PURCHASER prior to the commencement of witnessed testing.<br />

9.3.2 The assembled flow computer equipment shall be final tested be<strong>for</strong>e shipment in<br />

compliance with an approved test plan provided by the VENDOR. The test plan shall be<br />

submitted to PURCHASER at least 30 days be<strong>for</strong>e starting the final test.<br />

9.3.3 The test shall include at least the following:<br />

a. The VENDOR shall demonstrate the operation of all diagnostic and maintenance<br />

tests provided with the flow computer. Errors shall be simulated to demonstrate its<br />

capability to detect and report errors.<br />

b. Various external and internal fault conditions shall be introduced during the test to<br />

ensure correct, controlled and safe system response. Such faults shall be<br />

representative of the system configuration but shall include power<br />

failure/restoration, instrument failure, communication path failure (where<br />

applicable), and other faults likely to be encountered.<br />

c. Demonstration that each output signal is transmitted to its Output terminal and each<br />

signal received at each input terminal is functioning properly.<br />

d. Demonstration that every input and output circuit is properly Interconnected and<br />

sequenced and is functioning properly.<br />

e. Demonstration of compliance with environmental and EMI/RFI<br />

f. Prevention requirements stated herein.<br />

9.3 WITNESSED TESTING<br />
