FILR Series Single Link L-Band Fiber Optic Link Receiver 950-2050 MHz
Blonder Tongue’s FILR series L-Band fiber optic receivers provide a cost-effective method of receiving L-Band
signals for satellite receivers with the EMI immunity and superior performance inherent in fiber optic links.
The FILR-S3A-2050 is a single RF output receiver that can be used for receiving LNB signals from a TVRO
site at a headend facility as an alternative to the loss and slope associated with coaxial links. The FILR-S3A-
2050, along with Blonder Tongue’s L-Band distribution amplifiers, optical couplers and L-Band passive devices
can also be used to transport L-Band signals within MDU installations as part of a custom designed ‘singlewire’
distribution system.
The FILR-S3A-2050 provides full 950-2050 MHz bandwidth L-band satellite reception over a single fiber optic
cable with enough RF signal level output to feed a satellite receiver or to drive several receivers by adding a
Blonder Tongue distribution amplifier. These high quality links will provide excellent RFI free performance for
distribution to garden style apartment complexes, and high rise buildings. Our engineers will assist you in
designing your L-Band optical networks for peak performance.
Special ‘stacked’ LNBFs are available to provide both satellite polarities on a single cable. The ‘single wire’
system, using FILT series transmitters, can provide one fiber optic cable to feed FILR series fiber optic
receivers in a headend or apartment unit. The FILR series receivers convert the incoming optical signal to a
broadband RF output. In MDU applications, each output is connected to a ‘Subscriber Unit’ that responds to
the satellite receiver’s tuning instructions and automatically ‘unstacks’ the polarities in order to provide seamless
service to the viewer.
Existing CATV or MATV channel lineups can be multiplexed onto the MDU subscriber’s coaxial cable drop outside the
unit to maintain a ‘single wire’ solution for all entertainment services. Blonder Tongue also provides traditional AM/VSB
fiber optic links that can distribute your CATV signals to your MDU units via fiber, creating a complete high performance
optical network.
Blonder Tongue’s combination of engineering expertise and versatile product line make us an ideal supplier for all your
fiber optic needs. Whether you are connecting TVRO antennas to your headend, reaching new buildings from a master
headend, building a brand new MDU satellite distribution system or overlaying satellite services onto an existing
CATV/MATV system Blonder Tongue has the solution.
