OATS - NATURALLY SWEETENED<br />

Eat in the darkest depth of Winter<br />

(serves 4)<br />

Ingredients:<br />

Breakfast Ideas<br />

Ghee, cinnamon, black pepper, cloves and nutmeg.<br />

1 cup whole organic, freshly rolled oats, 1 ½ cups milk, 1 ½ cups water, 4-6 Fresh<br />

Dates, Pear or ripe fruit.<br />

Place a teaspoon or so of ghee in a pan which is on a low to moderate heat. Add a<br />

teaspoon of freshly ground spices. Add the fresh oats and stir fry the spicy oats for a<br />

few minutes. Add the milk and water, chopped dates, chopped fruit. Bring to the boil<br />

and then simmer for 10-20 minutes. Take with fresh milk, add a little honey on top if<br />

you really have too!<br />

STEAMED FRUITS DELIGHT<br />

Excellent for breakfast, a digestive snack, detox or at sensitive times.<br />

Ingredients: Seasonal fruits, apples, pears or pineapple with a few fresh dates, ghee,<br />

cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper and cloves.<br />

25BSlice fruit of the season. Generally apple and pear.<br />

26BPlace a ½ teaspoon of ghee in a pot, add fresh cinnamon powder, with a little<br />

nutmeg, pepper and clove. If you need the extra digestive lift add grated ginger.<br />

27BAdd the fruit, stir fry for a minute on a low flame, add a tablespoon of water and<br />

steam for 2-5 minutes.<br />

28BOptional: Add some whole strawberries for the last minute and serve with ONE<br />

tablespoon of suitable yoghurt with pepper.<br />
