History
The Project of Sisters of Mercy Works started in 2006. The feasibility study of the project took three (3)
months. As the name would tell, Mercy Works is an association main made up of catholic sisters,
initially to undertake and disseminate basic educational informations to the people in the communities.
It is a churh based organisation operating as service delivery arm of the Catholic Church. Catholic
Church is a well established church which has it’s headquarter in Rome.
Most of the programs of Mercy Works are oriented to the women but in this case it’s not rilly bias to
the women; men are also integrated in activities and programs.
Organisational Aspect
There are five permanent staffs, of which four are females and one is a male. Volunteers are taken on
board when running the programs at the sites so as to provide assistence. Also at certain times
professionals or special experts are temporarily hired to run the programs, like for Life Skill training
Programs. So such people deliver the needed skills to the people.
Network and institutional relations
Mercy Works is a Catholic Church based organisation. The Catholic is an international religion,
meaning that its member churches are found in most of the countries.

Save the Children
Other groups (Lutheren, Four Square, EBC,CLC)
Get technical support from the government departments, especially health and agriculture
departments. Also get assistence from police and CIS.
Juridical and Legal Aspect
Mercy Works has an affiliation with the Catholoic Church. It is formally recognised as an association
and operates under the bylaws and regulation of the Catholic Church and the government department.
Financial Aspect
Most activities and programs are funded by the Catholic Church itself. After the given period of time
finacial acquittals and report are lodged to the borad of directors. Only at certain times Mercy Works
gets support eigther in money terms other logistics from other groups mentioned above.
