Successful business development
Despite difficult market conditions and reduced demand in the year 2003,
NEUSIEDLER managed to hold its own and continue its success. Production and
sales volumes were increased again and the EBIT of the NEUSIEDLER Group was
kept at a high level. With this excellent overall result, NEUSIEDLER clearly stands
apart form the rather subdued international trend in the paper industry.
In particular, the investments in the East European countries made major contributions
to the earnings of the Group in this difficult year, thus confirming and
underpinning the strength of our East European strategy.
In addition, continuing increase in capacity, a high degree of integration, ongoing
investments, targeted innovation and the determined implementation of
our claim to supply chain leadership have always been important success factors
in the NEUSIEDLER Group.
