Special training of young
talents by the IDC
Training and promotion of staff
NEUSIEDLER’s consistent training programme for all employees has been an
important focus for years, with the training budget and the training time per
employee being continuously increased.
Focus on talent management
In line with a priority set for the entire Mondi Europe Group, NEUSIEDLER
places special emphasis on talent management.
The first round of the International Development Center (IDC), an initiative to
promote targeted training of particularly promising management candidates
from all the Group’s operations, was started in April 2002 and is still running
very successfully. The IDC aims to enable talented candidates with a high development
potential to take over management positions in the intercultural environment
of the strongly expanding NEUSIEDLER Group in the medium term. In
addition to the development of soft skills, emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary
projects focussing on current issues concerning the Group.
Within the framework of the first programme, 14 participants from three nations
were trained in altogether ten workshops lasting for several days in subjects
such as intercultural management, leadership, creativity and innovation,
project management, change management and conflict management.
As a result of the enormous success of the first round, a second round is already
at the planning stage. In addition, MDCs, mill development circles, were
developed as part of the structured concept for the systematic identification of
promising management candidates across the Group that was approved last
year. MDCs offer extensive training in project management, time management
and English. The most successful participants in the local development circles
are automatically qualified for the next round of the international development
circle.
Sports activities and a physical fitness
test round off the programme
