For each plant, annual environmental programmes are prepared that define
all environmental measures, goals and objectives.
The holding company NEUSIEDLER AG located at the Austrian Theresienthal
mill houses the central competence center ”Engineering and SHE“ (SHE – Safety,
Health & Environment), which is responsible for the Group’s standards and the
coordination of all Group-wide environmental activities.
Key concerns of environmental management are the continuous reduction of
waste and emissions into air, water and soil and ensuring that all statutory regulations
are met. NEUSIEDLER’s environmental management also attaches great
importance to the exclusive use of raw materials and auxiliaries that meet the
high ecological standards of the Group.
Theme leadership in environmental protection
Establishing NEUSIEDLER as theme leader in environmental protection is one
of the objectives of PUSHING THE LIMITS, the new corporate vision. This claim
was translated into a concrete work programme that comprises ten areas of activity
and focuses in particular on the continuous improvement of environmental
performance in combination with excellence in forest certification, innovation
and CO 2 strategy. In order to ensure swift implementation of the programme, a
clear organisational structure was created, with project managers at all plants
who are responsible for the group-wide implementation of the numerous individual
projects under the guidance of the holding company.
