vegetation around buildings that is potentially a fire hazard will be undertaken
All uncontrolled veldt fires on Riebeeck property must be reported to the
emergency controller. It‟s the responsibilities of all the employees to inform
about a fire if discovered.
Fires in buildings will be prevented / controlled by:
Fire extinguishers will be available in all buildings.
These extinguishers are checked against work instruction requirements every
month to ensure they are in working order.
The fire extinguishers will be checked by a professional contracted annually.
If the fire cannot be controlled by the person discovering the fire, it will be
report to the emergency controller for appropriate action.

The mine has implemented storm water prevention measures by constructing
storm water channels, berms and catchment dams throughout the mining
property to ensure that all storm water is directed away from the plant and areas
where flooding would be a problem.
These storm water channels and berms will be annually inspected and if
necessary cleaned and repaired.
When an abnormal flood occurs at Riebeeck the emergency controller will
arrange a proper action plan to deal with the situation.

All chemical will be stored within the appropriate bunded / protected
environment to reduce the potential of a reaction.
No chemicals that could react together will be stored in the same location.
All MSD sheets will be available for all chemicals stored on the site.
In case of an accident that may result in toxic or hazardous chemicals to run
away and pollute the environment, the emergency controller must be contacted.
The emergency controller must without delays arrange an action plan to bring
the pollution under control. For this purpose the Quality Assurance Manager
and other personnel may be called upon.

Riebeeck will at all times have an appointed radiation protection officer whose
duties will include:
Ensure that all persons who may work near the installation are fully aware of
the associated radiation hazard and are familiar with correct work procedures.
The transfer of a radioactive measuring system from one place to another
must take place under the guidance of the radiation protection officer
When the radioactive source is removed from service, the radiation protection
officer must ensure that it is immediately locked away in the approved
isolation container.
