1.9.7 Cement Milling and Transport

The plant will produce products as per the market demand, namely a CEM I 42,5N (Ordinary
Portland Cement or OPC) and a CEM I 42,5R Rapid Hardening Cement (RHC).
The production of cement is broken up into the following sub-processes:
Raw materials transport to cement mill feed bins,
Cement milling and transport to two multi-cell storage silos,
Cement storage.
Raw Materials Transport to Cement Mill Feed Bins
The raw materials required for the cement milling section are reclaimed from the stockyard and
transferred to the cement mill feed bins via covered conveyor belts. The feed bins would supply
two vertical roller mills (VRM) units. The facility is designed with a separate synthetic gypsum
feedbin at each of the VRM units, as well as allowing space for introducing ground slag into the
milling process (for use in producing SureBuild) in the future Cement Milling and Transport to
Two Multi-cell Storage Silos
The proportioning of the cement additives is done from the material feed bins located in
proximity to the VRMs. Bins for natural gypsum, limestone extender and clinker will allow for
proportioning and will be sized for approximately four hours milling capacity.
After milling all the materials, the cement is extracted from the mill, in a gas stream, by means of
induced draft fans 2 to the bag filter collection units. Each VRM has a dedicated bag filter unit.
The cement would be recovered at the bottom of the bag filter units and The cement is
recovered in hoppers below the bag filter plants and pneumatically conveyed the storage silos.
An automated sampling system is included on the bag filter discharge screw feeder of each unit.
The samples will be pneumatically conveyed to the laboratory on site for analysis.
