As pointed out before, the value <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> Fsc depends <strong>on</strong> the number <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the c<strong>on</strong>nected WTGs.<br />

C<strong>on</strong>sidering a base value when all WTGs are in service, Fsc with half <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the WTGs is about<br />

75% and it is 25% when 10% <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the WTGs are in service.<br />

Figure 4-7 shows the resp<strong>on</strong>se <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the test system with SCR <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> 5 with half <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the WTGs<br />

c<strong>on</strong>nected with two settings <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the PI c<strong>on</strong>troller. The first setting is based <strong>on</strong> having all<br />

WTGs in service, and the sec<strong>on</strong>d <strong>on</strong>e is based <strong>on</strong> c<strong>on</strong>necting <strong>on</strong>ly half <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the WTGs (lower<br />

Fsc). It can be shown that there is no significant difference in resp<strong>on</strong>se in the POI voltage.<br />

However, using the settings based <strong>on</strong> all WTGs would make the resp<strong>on</strong>se a little slower since<br />

Fsc with half WTGs in service is lower than that calculated based <strong>on</strong> all turbines. Therefore,<br />

the Ki and Kp settings determined when all WTGs are in service can be reas<strong>on</strong>ably used with<br />

50% <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> WTGs. With a further lower number <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> c<strong>on</strong>nected WTGs, the settings would lead to a<br />

much faster resp<strong>on</strong>se, and so should be revised or at least used with careful c<strong>on</strong>siderati<strong>on</strong>.<br />
