4.2.2 <strong>Wind</strong> <strong>Farm</strong> <strong>VAR</strong> C<strong>on</strong>trol using WTG Voltage C<strong>on</strong>trol<br />

The <strong>VAR</strong> c<strong>on</strong>trol implementati<strong>on</strong> is performed as before with the static excitati<strong>on</strong> system<br />

through a PI c<strong>on</strong>troller to regulate the voltage at the POI bus. The c<strong>on</strong>trol block diagram is<br />

illustrated in Figure 4-17. With the PID c<strong>on</strong>troller <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the excitati<strong>on</strong> system, the reference <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> the<br />

WTG terminal voltage is equal to the WTG voltage in the steady-state c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>.<br />
