1.1 ORGANIZATION OF REPORT<br />

The Monitoring Program will be described in the sections summarized below:<br />

Introduction<br />

Section 1. Introduction – An initial summary of the report’s contents and goals while<br />

highlighting the reasons for the Monitoring Program.<br />

Section 2. Background – A brief understanding of the groundwater aquifer is provided<br />

to ensure a minimum level of understanding by field staff of the conditions taking place<br />

below the ground.<br />

Section 3. Monitoring Network – Criteria for selection of monitoring wells is described<br />

and the current list of wells to be monitored is provided.<br />

Section 4. Monitoring Equipment and Preparation – Each monitoring event requires<br />

an inventory of the equipment that will be taken out into the field and to have staff<br />

trained to conduct the measurement and interface with the well owners.<br />

Section 5. Depth-to-<strong>Groundwater</strong> Procedures and Frequency of Monitoring and<br />

Reporting – The resolution of measurement data is described with a brief discussion of<br />

the pros and cons of high and low sampling frequency.<br />

Section 6. Recording of Monitoring Data, Data <strong>Management</strong> and the CASGEM<br />

Requirements – Once data is brought back from the field (and laboratory); all data will<br />

need to be uploaded to the State. DWR will allow batch uploading and downloading<br />

using the CASGEM database and graphical user interface.
