This is not a low swamp forest but a swamp shrubland as is often multistemmed at the base – Steve Griffith. also should be B. Y It is not confined to the Lower Hunter Valley – Steve Griffith. 224 Melaleuca linariifolia / Carex appressa shrubland of Lower Hunter Valley Y Statistically it makes more sense to merge groups 225, 226 and 227 into one large Smooth-barked apple group (called Group 225) and keep Group 34 separate as a small near-coastal group. The cluster of sites further to the north do not belong to this group but could belong to the other Smoothbarked apple groups in the Wyong area; merge with Group 225 – Daniel Connolly. Y ? Only very small remnants – Robert Payne. Outlier – east of all other sites does not belong; agree there is a unique sandplain assemblage here but is this very localised because of intense samples.
