National Park is located <strong>in</strong> the southern<br />
part <strong>of</strong> Taiwan island and encompases<br />
18,030ha <strong>of</strong> land and 15,185ha <strong>of</strong> sea.<br />
Kent<strong>in</strong>g is well known for its uplifted<br />
coral reefs, oceanic natural resources,<br />
natural monsoon forests and coastal<br />

National Park Headquarters is located<br />
outside the western part <strong>of</strong> Taiwan island<br />
and covers an area <strong>of</strong> 3,780ha. The<br />
responsibilities <strong>of</strong> headquarters are to<br />
preserve the natural (flora and bird<br />
migration) as well as cultural features<br />
(unique architecture and harmonious<br />
lifestyle <strong>of</strong> the local villagers).<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>ile: Established <strong>in</strong> 1992, Shei-Pa<br />
National Park is part <strong>of</strong> Taiwan’s<br />
mounta<strong>in</strong> sp<strong>in</strong>e on the western side <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Central Mounta<strong>in</strong> Range. The high alp<strong>in</strong>e<br />
climate has the effect <strong>of</strong> separat<strong>in</strong>g<br />
flourish<strong>in</strong>g plant life and has preserved<br />
plants from many geological periods.<br />
