JOB DESCRIPTION<br />

TITLE: CHILD CARE AIDE<br />

RESPONSIBLE TO: APPROPRIATE CHILD CARE FACILI'TATOR;XSST.CHILD<br />

CARE FACILITATOR<br />

JOB GOALS:<br />

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:<br />

To assist in providing a well <strong>org</strong>anized, sn~oothly functioning beforelafter<br />

school program environment in which students can take till1 advantage of<br />

the activities and available resource materials.<br />

1. High school diploma or GED required.<br />

2. Experience in worhng with school age children preferred.<br />

3. Acceptable score on a reading, math and writing inventory.<br />

4. Must obtain fingerprinting, background check, and Mantoux TB Skin Test, and 4 references (2<br />

business, 2 personal)<br />

5, Bilingual preferred, but not required.<br />

6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.<br />

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:<br />

1 Assist in supervision of children at a District Child Care Program.<br />

2. Assist with daily operation of the program to continue meeting licensing, fire, and sanitation<br />

requirements.<br />

3. Maintain a clean and neat program environment.<br />

4. Use appropriate language with both children and parents.<br />

5. Provide adequate supervision both inside and outside.<br />

6. Practice appropriate discipline techniques with children.<br />

7. Maintain a cooperative, flexible attitude accepting constructive criticism.<br />

8. Maintain a professional manner including confidentiality and appropriate communication with<br />

all parties (staff, students and community).<br />

9. Provide good example for students with appropriate dress, grooming and cleanliness.<br />

10. Arrive <strong>org</strong>anized and prepared adequately for each day's activities.<br />
