APPENDIX 2.9
ENGINE ROOM - HYDRAULIC CONTROLS
1. Engage Twin Disc P.T.O. clutch at front of M.E. operates all hydraulic equipment
(including bow thrusters) except pot hauler and derrick.
2. Use toggle switches on aft bridge consol to select equipment to be powered
hydraulically via solenoid valves on fwd E.R. bulkhead. Spare solenoids kept in box
below air compressor.
3. Operate machinery using hydraulic controls in aft bridge area or controls fitted to
equipment in use. (Toggle switch for thruster on fwd bridge).
4. Light illuminates on top of most solenoids when in use.
5. Return line filters are under floor plating between log desk and vyce bench. There
are suction strainers in D.B. hydraulic tank.
6. Normally 4,000 litres are carried in D.B. tank.

AUXILIARY HYDRAULICS
1. Use electric switch in E.R. or bridge to turn on/off. Select equipment to operate with
toggle switches on bridge.
2. Will operate all hydraulic machinery at slow speed (except pot hauler and derrick)
and used in conjunction with main hydraulics for anchor windlass operation.
3. Sole pump used for Pot Hauler and Derrick operation. Close valve above pot hauler
horizontal line and open valve on vertical line to switch from main hydraulics to pot
hauler.
