The Judson series formed in silty colluvium derived from non-calcareous loess on foot slopes,<br />

upland drainageways, and alluvial fans. Slope ranges from 0 to 12 percent and most areas are<br />

cultivated producing crops such as corn, small grain, and alfalfa. Areas of native vegetation<br />

consisting of big bluestem, little bluestem, Indiangrass, switchgrass, as well as other grasses of<br />

the tall grass prairie remain in isolated locations.<br />
