Articles
Citation of periodical literature using bl-oscola is essentially the same as in
standard biblatex, with two truly special cases: articles in newspapers and
case notes. All should be given the entrytype @article.
entrysubtype Normally unnecessary, but might be set to newspaper
or casenote: see pages 64 and 65 below.
author The author(s) of the article, as a list of names (see
page 11 for guidance).
title The title of the article.
journaltitle The name of the journal – in most cases abbreviated.
volume The volume of the journal, if it has one. If it is properly
referred to by year alone, then the volume should
be omitted, and the date will then be printed in square
brackets (see example 96). If you require both year
and volume, then use the option year-essential.
issue/number This is normally unnecessary, but you can give it in
addition if it is required as part of the citation.
date The date of the relevant issue.
pages The first page (or the pages) of the relevant article.
You can give a page range if you like, but only the
first page will be used.
crossref Used in conjunction with the casenote sub-type to
indicate the case to which a note refers.
options You might need to set the option year-essential,
if the year form an essential part of the citation but
there is also a volume.
