institution The body producing the document (eg UNGA for the
General Assembly). Use the author field only if you
want to identify an individual author.
title The ‘long’ title of an instrument, if it has one.
instrument_no The number of the instrument (eg Res 251/210). This is
different from the number of the document. (Internally
this equates to the titleaddon field, which may by
used as an alternative.)
doc_no The UN document number. Include the ‘UN Doc’
(since not all documents seem to have it, and bloscola
therefore cannot guess when it should be
added). Note that for some pre-1976 documents, the
date is part of the official document number and
should be added here too. (Internally this equates to
the number field, which may be used as an alternative.)
date The date of the instrument.
You can also use other common fields, such as shorttitle, indextitle
and so on. (If you do not specify a short title, bl-oscola will use the instrument
number as the short title.) If you wish to cite a un document from a
journal or collection (such as ILM), you may include journaltitle, volume
and pages fields here.
It is not clear, from the examples given in oscola (3rd edition) whether
the titles of un instruments should be given in quotation marks or not. By
default, bl-oscola does not use quotation marks. But you may, if you wish,
alter this. To do so, include the following in your preamble:
