Office of the Chair<strong>ma</strong>n<br />
The Office of the Chair<strong>ma</strong>n <strong>ma</strong>nages the daily operations of the<br />
Department, sets directions, and provides leadership support to all<br />
DHHL offices and divisions. Additionally, the office is responsible for<br />
supporting the Hawaiian Homes Commission.<br />
The Director of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands also holds the title of Chair<strong>ma</strong>n of the<br />
Hawaiian Homes Commission. The Chair<strong>ma</strong>n has full charge of and responsibility for the administration<br />
and execution of all actions approved by the Commission. All orders and actions of the<br />
Commission are authenticated or signed by the Chair<strong>ma</strong>n or the deputy. The Chair<strong>ma</strong>n also signs<br />
all licenses, leases, loan contracts, contracts with other governmental agencies, and Commission<br />
resolutions.<br />
